Tony Awards Go Inside the Annual Tony Awards 'Meet the Nominees' Event

The nominations for the 75th Annual Tony Awards were announced May 9.

Take a look at photos of this year's Tony nominees at the annual Tony Awards "Meet the Nominees" May 12 event at Sofitel. Nominations were announced at 9 AM May 9 via YouTube by previously-named Tony winner Adrienne Warren and Tony nominee Joshua Henry, along with Tony nominee and West Side Story Oscar winner Ariana DeBose. DeBose has also been announced as the host of the 75th Annual Tony Awards.

The 75th Annual Tony Awards will broadcast live on CBS and livestream via Paramount+ from Radio City Music Hall June 12 beginning at 7 PM ET. As previously announced, the first hour of the 2022 Tony Awards on Paramount+ will be hosted by Darren Criss and Julianne Hough, both of whom are currently starring on Broadway.

Ahead of the ceremony, Broadway fans can participate in the Official Tony Awards Challenge, which officially opened May 9 at 2 PM ET. Participants are invited to predict the winners for a chance at winning a number of prizes, including this year's grand prize of 75 free Broadway tickets. The challenge officially closes June 12 at 3 PM ET.

Pulitzer-winning musical A Strange Loop leads the pack with 11 nominations, including one for L Morgan Lee who is the first openly Trans Tony-nominated performer for her performance. Also garnering 10 nods each are fellow Best Musical nominees MJ The Musical and Paradise SquareThe Lehman Trilogy is the season's most Tony-nominated play with eight nods, including Best Play.
