Oscar ceremony producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd announced Emmy winner Glenn Weiss will return as director of the Academy Awards for his second consecutive year. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the Oscars will air live February 26 beginning at 7 PM ET on ABC.

Weiss was among the recent winners of the Directors Guild of America's Outstanding Directorial Achievement Awards for 2016, which were presented February 4. Weiss won the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Variety/Talk/News/Sports—Specials for The 70th Annual Tony Awards, which were broadcast on CBS in June 2016. He previously won the same award in 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015 for the 61st, 64th, 65th, 66th, 67th, and 68th Annual Tony Awards.

“As a veteran director of live television, Glenn has mastered both the technical and creative nuances that make for a dynamic, ‘in the moment’ viewing experience,” said De Luca and Todd in a statement. “We could not be more thrilled to be working with him.”

Weiss has directed numerous televised events, including 16 Tony Awards shows, for which he has garnered three directing Primetime Emmys.

The 89th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
