Segal Centre for Performing Arts' Canadian premiere of Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen's Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors opens October 29 after beginning performances October 23. Greenberg (Holiday Inn) is also at the helm of the new work, which puts a Mel Brooks-esque spin on the spooky Bram Stoker story.

The Montreal production follows development by Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and Maltz Jupiter Theatre, both also under Greenberg's direction. The farce also became a podcast radio play in May 2020, with a cast including Christopher Sieber, Laura Benanti, and John Stamos.

The Montreal cast is led by James Daly (MythicMaster Harold...and the Boys) in the title role, along with Ellen David, Naomi Ngebulana, David Nöel, and Colin Simmons, together playing more than a dozen characters.

The production features scenic design by Michael Gianfrancesco, costumes by Louise Bourret, lighting design by Amber Hood, and sound and original music by Victoria Deiorio. Luciana Burcheri is intimacy coach, Elaine Normandeau is stage manager, and Melanie Ermel is assistant stage manager.

Performances continue through November 13. For tickets, visit SegalCentre.org.
