Classic Arts News City Center's Fall for Dance Festival Opens New York's City Center opens its first Fall for Dance festival tonight with performances by Dance Theatre of Harlem, STREB, and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
The festival, which runs through Sunday, October 3, features performances by five dance companies each night, and includes everything from ballet to tap, hip hop, and classical Indian dance.

The festival is intended to widen the audience for modern and classical dance by creating an ecclectic and affordable series packed with first-rate dance companies. City Center has opened its entire 2,700-seat theatre for the shows, including a rarely used upper balcony. Tickets are priced at a low $10 per show.
