Broadway News Broadway’s A Bronx Tale Welcomes Christiani Pitts August 31 Into the Role of Jane The actor made her Broadway debut as an understudy in the show.

The Broadway production of the new musical A Bronx Tale welcomes Christiani Pitts to the role of Jane August 31 at the Longacre Theatre.

Pitts replaces Ariana DeBose, who played her final performance August 30.

She previously understudied the role and appeared in the ensemble, marking her Broadway debut. Her additional credits include Rent, Aida, Big Fish, and Cabaret; her film appearances include Big Momma’s House 3, and Like Father Like Son.

In other news, Will Coombs succeeded Hudson Loverro in the role of Young Calogero earlier this month; he shares the role with Jonah Mussolino.

Coombs was also seen in the national tour of Matilda.

The cast also includes Tony Award nominee Nick Cordero as Sonny, Richard H. Blake as Lorenzo, Bobby Conte Thornton as Calogero, Lucia Giannetta as Rosina, and Bradley Gibson as Tyrone.

The ensemble features Michelle Aravena, Gilbert L. Bailey II, Joe Barbara, Michael Barra, Jonathan Brody, Ted Brunetti, Brittany Conigatti, Kaleigh Cronin, John Gardiner, Rory Max Kaplan, Charlie Marcus, Janelle McDermoth, Shannon Mullen, Robert Neary, Dominic Nolfi, Wonu Ogunfowora, Brandon O’Neill, Paul Salvatoriello, Joseph J. Simeone, Joey Sorge, Cary Tedder, Keith White, and Christopher Henry Young.

A Bronx Tale has a book by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, music by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Grammy winner and Oscar and Tony nominee Glenn Slater. It is co-directed by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo.
