Alexandra Socha will keep hitting the bull's eye in Annie Get Your Gun, which has been extended until September 1. The former Head Over Heels star plays Annie Oakley opposite Matt Saldivar (Bernhardt/Hamlet, Honeymoon in Vegas) as Frank Butler. Performances began July 30 at the Sag Harbor, New York venue.
Sarna Lapine, director of the London-bound revival of Sunday in the Park With George, directs the new production of the Irving Berlin classic, which incorporates elements from book writer Dorothy Fields’ original script to approach Oakley's story as a female trailblazer in a modern way.
The 1946 musical features music and lyrics by Berlin, with a book co-written by Dorothy and Herbert Fields.
