Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company will stage the region's premiere of Noah Diaz's You Will Get Sick later this summer. Running June 5 through July 13, the production will officially open June 15.

In You Will Get Sick, a young man is shocked to receive a life-changing diagnosis. Overwhelmed, he turns to a stranger for help, hiring an older woman to break the news to his family and friends—thus setting into motion a series of events that will profoundly reshape both of their lives.

Directed by Audrey Francis, the production will mark the return of Tony nominee Amy Morton to the company, rejoining the fold after nearly a decade. She will be joined by Cliff Chamberlain (The Minutes, Superior Donuts) and Namir Smallwood (Pass Over, True West, Bug), with support from Jordan Arredondo and Sadieh Rifai (First Look Repertory of New Work).

The creative team for the Steppenwolf production will include scenic designer Andrew Boyce, costume designer Raquel Adorno, lighting designer Jen Schriever, sound designer Willow James, magic and illusions designer Skyler Fox, vocal coach Kate DeVore, and dramaturg Bryar Barborka.

Patrick Zakem is the creative producer, Tom Pearl is the producing director, and casting is by JC Clementz. Laura D. Glenn will be the production stage manager, and Kathleen Barrett will be the assistant stage manager.
